Is visa and green card the same thing?

Visa is a document required to enter any foreign country. US Green card is immigrant visa which allows you to live and work in US.While other types of non-immigrant visas like B-2 tourist visa,F-1 Student visa etc can be used to stay in US till it expires or until the purpose of your visa is complete.
