Does the Tdap booster shot hurt?

Not at all, I just had it. You might have some side affects after the shot but nothing to serious (ex. Headache, tummy ache, and the area where the shot went might get red ) I have Allergies and I get shots for them so I have a few tricks so you won't think about it too much ;) Here's some tips.. 1. Don't look at the needle turn the other way, most people are just afraid of the needle. 2. Have someone in the room with you, it always made me feel better when I had my mind off of the subject. Talking to the nurse while the shot is being given can be helpful also. 3. After the shot the area where it was given might be swollen and red in color, put some ice on it to reduce the swelling and irritation. 4. Take some Tylenol or Motrin before the shot to reduce pain. 5. If you are a parent getting ready for your child to have Tdap tell them it's not that bad because it really isn't. 6. If your child hasn't responded well with shots before in the past offer a reward such as going out for ice cream after or a small toy. Hope the info I shared with you was helpful.
