Why do people assume that witches are bad?

Wicca ( properly pronounced witcha) is the Old English Word for what we now call a shaman. The reason why we think of witches and pagans in general as being evil is that conquering religions always demonize the practices of the religions they replace. In fact, pagans are just as morally good or bad as everyone else, with this difference: pagans never have religious wars, or burn people at the stake, the way Christians do.
