What is the difference between a expensive Curling Iron to a cheap one?

Generally, hair straighteners and curlers that are more expensive are designed to reach temperatures that curl/straighten more effectively, without doing a large amount of damage to your hair. For example, a straightener such as a ghd which only reaches 178 degrees is more effective and less damaging than a Remington straightener that reaches 200+ degrees.
