Is a djinns a genie

The Djinn is a mythological creature, in the same sense that angels and demons are mythological. Their reality is that of religious imagery, not of physical reality. Consequently it is not possible to describe the "real" abilities of a Djinn. They can only be described in spiritual or symbolic terms.
