Where is the concept of the Season of Lent taught in the Bible?

The Word "Lent" does not appear in The Bible. The Bible does not teach that the Church should celebrate a Liturgical Season called "Lent" anymore then the Bible commands that the Church should celebrate the Birth of Christ on December 25.
