Is there a better day of the week to fly if you want cheap airline tickets?

Weekdays are generally the cheapest days of the week for air flights. Tuesday and Wednesday travel times are typically least expensive, while weekends are most expensive. Buying tickets in advance is also the best way to get the cheapest fares.

As a general rule it is cheaper to fly on weekdays than it is to fly in or out on weekends. Mainly because people tend to fly more on the weekends so they offer cheaper tickets during the week.
