What are disadvantages of climatographs?

Advantages:

• A quicker way of comparing and characterizing data.
• They are used to detect changes in the climate

Disadvantages:

• Does not account for changes in the length of dry/wet spells.
• Autocorrelation of precipitation may be disturbed. non-linear transformation may lead to unexpectedly large precipitation amounts.
• Changes in the tails are based on relatively few values.
