When did Hong Kong become a colony?

It was occupied by the British in 1841 during the Opium War, and later ceded to the British as part of the Treaty of Nanking that marked the end of that war. Kowloon was ceded after the second Opium War in 1860. And New Territories and Lantau in 1898
