How many people have died from the zika verus?

As of my last knowledge update in October 2023, the Zika virus is primarily associated with mild symptoms and has not been directly linked to a high mortality rate. While severe complications, such as congenital Zika syndrome in infants, have raised concerns, specific death tolls attributed directly to the Zika virus are not well-documented. Overall, confirmed deaths directly caused by Zika are extremely rare.
