Why did Beowulf go to dains to help the king of dains kill Grendal?

Beowulf goes to Denmark to help Hrothgar because Hrothgar, King of the Danes/scyldings, helped Beowulf's father defeat some enemy. So he kind of owes Hrothgar for saving his poeple, plus he wants glory.
