Why was armpit sent to camp green lake?

IF you read Small Steps by Louis Sachar, it says that Armpit went to camp green lake when he was 14, he was at the movies with some popcorn and a teenager tripped him, spilled his popcorn on him, the teenager yelled at him and Armpit punched him in the nose.
