How do you help an old dog with coughing spells?

If you haven't been to your vet and had a good check-up on your little dog, then please do so ASAP. Coughing can mean anything from failure of the lungs (water on the lungs), heart condition, pneumonia, etc. It's better to be safe than sorry. There are medications to help with these problems if caught in time. Good luck Marcy
