What is medroxyprogesterone used for?

It is used to induce a period. I am on Provera and I take it for 10 days (after 40 days if no pregnancy is detected) to cause me to get my period.

It can be used for a few different things. It can help stop abnormal bleeding, or ammenoerhea (lack of period) and to shed the uterine lining to help prevent endomitriOSis.
