Ways to increase power in Chevy 305?

Easiest way to add quick and serious power is a cam swap. You can do a cam swap for as cheap as $200 but can get pretty expensive on higher end cams. Nice carburetor can always help, but too much carb and you'll be hurting performance. Better exhaust helps every and any engine too. Things that are over looked that can add some extra power are higher grade spark plugs and high performance spark plug wires, clean coil inside the distributor, and a lighter fan (I recommend aluminum over the plastic ones). I owned an 86 Chevy with a 305 for a long time and did a lot of things to it and somethings helped and some didn't. These are some that I recommend tho.
