Where does acupuncture originate?

Acupuncture has a definite history of around 2,000 years, and some claim that acupuncture has been in use in China for about 4,000 years. there is also a belief that it dates back to the stone age when stone knives and sharp edged tools, described by the character 'Bian', were used to open and drain abscesses.
