Are exposed body piercings appropriate for all teenagers?

Nothing is appropriate for all teenagers as all teenagers are not identical and don't live in identical situations. In general exposed body piercings in certain areas (ears, nose) are deemed perfectly acceptable while others are arbitrarily seen as heavy modifications and may cause a problem if, for example, you're applying to law school.
