There is a sodium and potassium pump in the cells of your body if you get too much sodium your pumps can pump fast enough because it needs to be in balance with potassium. Most people though are actually concerned with sodium causing a rise in blood pressure leading to high blood pressure which really is bad for you. The truth is as long as your blood pressure is normal (you can crave sodium if it is low) and your not falling all over yourself with muscle spasms and cramps you probably ok with how much salt you are getting unless of course you doctor tells you so.
