water damage indicator or the proper term is
Liquid damage indicator LDI. A small square or circle of litmus paper located on electronics to indicate moisture damage.I opened a PSP 2000X to replace a cracked screen. That was how I found it.
But you do not have to go this far.
Remove battery cover.
orientate the PSP so it is right side up. (you can read the serial number)
Look to the bottom right side of the battery compartment.
There are two openings to the right of the screw- The first is covered by the VOID Indicator Tape, the second one is the access to the LDI. White is fine, Red dots is damage.
My PSP had a small square piece that had red dots on it, (In Tennessee the high humidity turned the dots red. I feel sorry for the folks in Texas)
This is located on the back of your LCD screen.
I have learned how to remove any tamper tape but will only do it for a cost. This is a tight kept secret that has been very lucrative to me. The chemical is expensive and hard to get, but can do thousands of labels.
Once removed the piece can be replaced with a new or fake tape for warranty and exchange.
