In the USA, nurses do not need hospital work experience before working in a doctor's office! All student nurses must complete the same education and pass State Boards; a nurse is a nurse. He or she can then work anywhere as an R.N. While some employers require work experience, many do not.

However, as well, most doctor's offices in the USA do not need and do not hire R.N.s for in office employment! Doctors can function quite well in the office with just Medical Assistants. Some doctors employ a Physician's Assistant. But hiring an R.N. for physician's offices would drastically increase their overhead, with paying an RN's salary, benefits, sick days, medical insurance, etc. It's probably been 30 years or longer since nurses were phased out of US physician offices. Most US nurses work in clinics, hospitals, nursing homes, rehab centers, chemical dependency rehabs, etc., and in specialized areas.
