Why was the porsch carrea gt production stopped?

Production has stopped for this car simply because it was a limited production car. Originally Porsche planned to make 1500 of the car, but because of the struggling American dollar this production was scaled down to 1250 units. Making limited production cars makes them more of a special thing, and increases value for the owner, but it also means less profit for the car company producing them. Most high end car companies all have their own super car that was limited production. How many are made though is entirely dependent on the manufacturer.
