The broad bean, also called the fava bean is extremely easy to grow. If growing indoors, plant in a shallow dish in sandy soil. They prefer to be kept moist until sprouted, the easiest way to accomplish this is the cover the pot with cling wrap. Then you should only need to water about once a week. If sowing outside, they still prefer a moist, cool soil and will tolerate light frosts. Sow 1-2" deep and 6" apart in rows 24-36" apart.
