What does graphite smell like?

Graphite itself is odorless and does not have a distinct smell. However, when it is ground into a fine powder or used in certain applications, it may have a slight earthy or metallic scent due to the presence of impurities. In general, though, pure graphite does not emit any noticeable odor.
