How was mosaic art made?

Mosaic art is created by arranging small pieces of colored glass, stone, or other materials, known as tesserae, into a pattern or image. Artists begin by designing a layout, which is then transferred to a surface, often using adhesives to secure the tesserae in place. After the pieces are positioned, grout is applied to fill the gaps and enhance the overall appearance. Once dried, the mosaic is polished and can be finished with a protective coating.
