I had the same question and started searching the internet for an answer. Gaining weight when starting a new diet, is completely normal. As long as you're eating healthy, nutritious meals, any weight you put on will most likely be either muscle from exercise (muscle tissue weighs 3X more than fat) or simply your body adjusting to your new diet. A slightly less common reason could be Metabolism related to your thyroid glands. For women, obviously, nature means our weight fluctuates throughout the month anyway, so it's usually best to wait for 4-5 weeks before weighing yourself. If you still seem to be gaining weight after this ammount of time, its a good idea to go and check with your doctor or physician who may recomend a blood test. i hope this helps, and good luck!
