Do you really need a filter for your molly fish?

Yes, some type of filter is recommended, depending on the size of the tank and your setup, you can look at using a box filter, power filter, or even an undergravel filter. Personally I use power filters in my 10 gallon tanks with a fine mesh covering the intake tube, and do weekly water changes.
