How does hydrophobia spread?

Hydrophobia, often associated with rabies, spreads primarily through the saliva of an infected animal, typically via bites or scratches. The rabies virus can be transmitted when the infected saliva enters the body through open wounds or mucous membranes. Additionally, the disease can be spread through contact with infected animals, particularly wild ones like bats, raccoons, and foxes. However, hydrophobia itself is not contagious between humans.
