This mysterious syndrome in this specific crab species is due to temperature being to low. Stay between 72 and 78 degrees or at 75 to be optimum. This is the most common reason that (Gecarcinum Quadratus, aka the Halloween Moon Crab) will lose it's legs for no apparent reason.
