How did bodhi dharma die?

I think that bodhi dharma was killed by the natives of that place(where bodhidharma lived)who mixed poison in his food. Even bodhidharma knew that his food contained poison he ate the food as the natives wished that they would be happy if his body was buried in that place after his death. Not to disappoint wish of the people Damo ate the food and left his life.
