There is much speculation that she may be lesbian, but she has denied this claim in an '04 interview titled 'Sarit Hadad: Lesbian? No way.'with "Ma'ariv" magazine saying the following,
"I do not judge, God forbid, I respect [homosexuals] all as human beings, but women do not interest me. Maybe because I have some friends who are members of the lesbian community, people assume that - by association - I am one too. I know a lot of people are assuming this, because sometimes women approach me, trying to start a fling with me. This has happened to me several times. As I stood on the stage, women have tried to approach me. Literally trying to hit on me. A woman once or twice have attempted by saying, 'let's have coffee together.' I say, 'great, but it's not for me.' I am open about everything. Drugs I've smoked, I was anorexic, and I am bulimic. I have had nervous breakdowns before, resulting in me being hospitalized in Ramot Menashe mental hospital. Like, Guetta has told me, 'Sarit, when people begin to publish silly invested stories about you, that is when you know that you are a star.' But I genuinely do not take offense to the rumors about my sexuality. All I care if that publishers write my name correctly, and do not print images of me from when I was 16 and looked like my mother with fat curls."
Despite this interview, people continue to insist that Sarit is lesbian, or at least bisexual; judging on how she is seen interacting with women and her overall behavior. Some speculate that Sarit is for now denying these claims in fear that it could potentially damage or otherwise taint her career, being that she is viewed with high regards as the "voice of Israel".
