In order to create a new Apple ID, you need to follow these steps:
- Go to the Apple ID website (see Related Links).
- Once there, you will need to make sure that your country is selected in the upper right corner. If it already is, proceed by clicking "Create Apple ID." If not, proceed to step 3.
- Click "Change Country" and type the first letter(s) of your country, and then select it from the drop down. Proceed by clicking the big blue button that reads "Create Apple ID" in the language of the country you selected.
- Fill out the form with your:
- email (which will be your Apple ID)
- a passWord that is at least eight characters, contains at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, and one number
- security question which you can easily answer at any time, but is not public information (e.g. information that is on a Facebook profile)
- birthdate, including year
- full name
- billing address (which must match the country you selected in Step 2 or 3)
- preferred language
Once done, you will need to verify your account by checking your email. You should see an email from
Apple. Click on the link that says "verify now" inside that email, and type in your email address (your
Apple ID) and the pass
Word you just made up.
If successful, you will see a message with a green checkmark, indicating you verified your Apple ID! Congratulations, you can now use your Apple ID as an iTunes account, to use the Find my iphone/ipad/iPod touch feature on MobileMe, or to get service or support on any of your Apple products via Apple's Support website.
