on the inside of the car, in the corner of the door there is a small triangular plastic cover (black on mine). Gently pop that off to expose 3 screws (hex-hed i think). There will also be an electronic connection that powers the automatic mirror. disconnnect the electronics by pulling apart. unscrew screws and remove old mirror and assembly while supporting from the outside. It will come out as one piece. The mirror's half of the electronic connector will need to be threaded through the gasket to allow the mirror assembly to compleatly separate from the car. Replace the entire mirror assembly (one piece)... check junk yard/pick&pull for a low cost replacement. You'll already know the tools you'll need and how to remove the entire mirror assembly quickly. Just make sure you pull one from the same model, year and side... should go without saying. Put the new one on just like the old one came off. It's really pretty easy. Shouldn't take more than 5-15 minutes. Good luck.
