The Word 'plant', when used as a noun, can have two meanings. Firstly, it means any member of the Plant Kingdom, which can make its own food from inorganic substances, doesn't have sensory organs, and cannot move itself around.

Secondly, it can be broadly used to refer to a member of the plant kingdom that is smaller than a tree or even than a shrub.

The term tree is usually used only for a larger woody perennial plant that has a trunk and branches.

So, depending on which definition you use, a tree can be the same as, or different from, a plant!
