The Bald Eagle, and other raptors such as the Peregrine Falcon, and Osprey populations were devastated by DDT. The long term exposure nearly wiped them out. Many other birds were affected as well, Robins in one instance were killed outright on a campus when the trees were sprayed to protect them from a disease. But the raptors suffered the worst exposure, the DDT stayed in the food chain creating a domino effect, so they ingested it in greater quantities.
