A. The Cabinet

The cabinet holds one or several drawers, an extension leaf, and a center drawer. There are used for storing or keeping important sewing materials, especially those that do not fit inside your sewing machine box.

B. The Stand

1. Treadle- it is where the feet rests while sewing

-it puts into motion the drive wheel

2. Drive Wheel- drives the balance wheel

3. Belt Guide- holds and keeps the belt in place

4. Drive Wheel Crank- turns the drive wheel

5. Pitman Rod- connects the treadle to the brand

wheel crank

6. Legs- supports the stand

C. The Head

1. Arm- used to carry the whole part and holds

important mechanisms inside.

2. Spool Pin- holds the spool of thread and is found

at the top right of the arm

3. Bobbin Winder- used for the lower threading

4. Stop Motion Screw- used to release or tighten

the movement of the needle bar

5. Stitch Regulator- used for reserve stitching

- controls the length of stitch

6. Balance Wheel- starts the mechanisms with the

drive wheel

7. Belt- connects the balance and drive wheel

8. Thread Guide- guides the upper threading

9. Presser Bar Lifter- lowers and raises the presser

foot

10. Presser Bar - holds the presser foot and needle

11. Thread Take-up Lever- controls the flow of

needle thread

12. Face Plate- covers the left end head on which

the needle bar is located

13. Upper Tension- regulates tightness or looseness

of the stitches.

14. Needle Clamp- holds the needle in place

15. Presser Foot- holds the fabric against the feed

dog

16. Feed Dog- moves the material as it stitches

17. Throat Plate- gives the needle access to the

lower thread

18. Bobbin- holds the lower thread

19. Bobbin Case- holds the bobbin place

20.Feed Dog Regulator- used to adjust the height

of the feed dog

21.Shuttle- holds the bobbin and bobbin case
