Why are people afraid of tarantulas?

Becuase they are poisonous. The bite can be fatal or you can get a life changing desease. But most likely you will die. And they are grose looking.You are absolutely rediculous. The reason people are afraid of tarantulas is because they are a giganic spider! The truth is they will not bite unsess you provoke them, not to mention there has never been a death by a trarantula bite EVER. The venom is very weak to humans and is only effective in small animals such as mice and and compareable size birds. Why even answer a question if you have no idea what you are talking about?
