How do geckos adapt to their environment?

There are different types of lizards that adapt in different ways. One I will talk about is the Gecko. If a predator was to catch it by its tail it could detach it so it could get away. But some other types like the leopard Gecko can change their color to blend into the background. This throws off the predators as the Gecko moves away.

Geckos can walk up, down, and sideways. It is one of the most amazing animals because it can also walk upside down. The Geckos have an adhesive covered foot allowing it to walk upside down. Its tail would catch its fall if its foot was to slip.

One way to survive if they find themselves needing to eat is, they sever off their tail and eat it. Their tail is rich in fat and can provide needed relief until they can find another food source. If it cannot find food after that, it would start eating its shed skin.

Geckos have a thick skin which allows them to block out the sun. It also keeps it from drying out. Their speed also helps. They move so fast that they don't get burned.
