What is the creepiest thing that has ever happened to you?

One of the creepiest experiences I had was when I was home alone late at night, and I heard faint whispering coming from the darkened hallway. I brushed it off as my imagination until I noticed the shadows shifting, despite no one being there. When I went to investigate, I found a window slightly ajar, and the whispers suddenly stopped. The eerie silence that followed lingered long after I closed the window, leaving me with an unsettling feeling.
