Can you add alcohol to sangria?

You can add almost anything, it just depends on what kind of wine you'll be using as your base and what kind of flavor profile you want to achieve. Traditionally, Sangria is made with red wine and Spanish brandy. However you can also substitute spiced rum or cognac in place of the brandy. You can also make Sangria Blanco which is made with white wine and either Apple brandy or white rum.
