You can take acetaminophen or ibuprofen, as your doctor prefers, for inflammation and/or pain. Otherwise, keep the area clean and free of infection, applying a gentle lotion a couple of times a day to keep the area hydrated. You might also like to keep a clean bandage over the area for a few days--be sure it stays clean and that you change it once or twice a day.
If there are any signs of infection (serious swelling, fever, puss, blood, etc.), go see a doctor ASAP. If you see any radiating black lines that is a sign of a life-threatening infection, for which you should go to the emergency room immediately.
