Longer/with less maintenance than a Toro. When I replaced my 8+/- year old Honda three years ago (when drive failed), I was shocked by what Honda was asking. So, I shopped around, including Consumer Reports, and ended up getting a Toro.
I regret it.
My Honda gave very little hassle, starting religiously on first pull. Toro, not so much, despite the guarantee. Their guarantee is only worth its usefulness. To get free service under the guaranteed to start guarantee, you have to take it in for authorized service every year. Then, if you time it right, you are without the mower for 2 to 4 weeks. They do provide a loaner, but what a hassle.
In for service every year, sometimes twice, drive mechanism not as easy to use and not as durable. My local Toro dealer hires HS kids to do the service and it shows.
If you can maintain it yourself, maybe Toro, otherwise stick w Honda.
