Food coloring is added to make the product the "correct" color in the consumer's eye. For instance, the berries in Cap'n Crunch Berries are not red, blue and purple due to the flavor ingredients

  • they are colored by food coloring. The same is true of certain

processed meat products, particularly bologna and Hot Dogs.
