Why would the air filter get oil soaked on my 2001 flht?

First off, having too much oil in your oil tank. If your oil level checks out, check into your head breather filters/umbrella seals (tear drop shape cover) in the the rocker boxes (twin Cam). Over time the heat/oil will harded the rubber not letting them seal well. Change out the filters and umbrella seals...
