I THINK IT IS IMPORTANT BECAUSE IT KEEPS OUR WHALE POPULATION UP AND SO IT DOESN'T DIE OUT.

because krill feed on snow, that's why the snow disappears. Krill only come out when the sun is shining and the day is hot,

also because they are over hunted by the strange "chav" creature
