Water is a COMPOUND, composed of the atoms of the elements hydrogen and oxygen.

Two hydrogen atoms are electronically combined with one oxygen atom , hence forming the compound water (H2O). Structurally it is ' H-O-H '.

NB It is NOT a mixture. In mixtures there is no electronic combination of atoms.
