Writing has many effects on the writer, including increased :
- knowledge in specific subjects after research
- sense of mastery of writing skills
- sense of personal abilities, self esteem, etc. - but a decreased sense of worth regarding lack of publishing even with maximum efforts
- ability to communicate via the written Word
- frustration over not being published, unless a Staff writer
- struggles to make money equal to the effort writing takes
- disillusionment with the field of publishing
- efforts to obtain personal satisfaction in writing, regardless of whether it is published
NOTE: Only a few authors ever 'get rich' through writing. Even professionals with Ph.D.'s earn very little for commercial writing, e.g. books.
