What is metamorphosis in the life cycle of a frog?

They start off in the embryotic stage as embryo inside of eggs. After a while, they hatch and are called tadpoles. Gradually they develop their front/back legs and lungs and can start walking on land. They look a little bit like a frog mixed with a tadpole, called tadpole frog. Finally, they turn into frogs.
