How long has Nestle been producing Laffy Taffy?

Laffy Taffy was originally called Beich's Caramels as was sold in the early 1970's. The name changed to Beich's Laffy Taffy's before Nestle bought them. Nestle bought the product line in 1988 when they bought Willy Wonka Candy company.
