How do you make the screen brighter on the Game Boy Color?

i have had the gameboy advance before and i don't think it has a lot of light and since i liked to play at night in the dark i bought a light that you connect to the place that the charger goes but if you get the light you need to charge the gameboy advance before you use the light because the light drains the power a bit
