How can you get natu in ruins of alph?

What does that have to do with motorcycles?? I think I'm missing something. Enter Union Cave; travel down stairs behind pokémaniac; surf to the right, then up until you see land; go on land, travel to cave exit hole; Natu is is the grass to the left, as well as smeargle.
